Summer that turned into Fall...where did the time go?

Katie and Chris....during their birthdays weeks.  Katie is now 20 and Chris 18.

Katie she left to go back to BYU-I.  She will be starting her sixth semester and will graduate at the end of December of this year.  While she has been home, she has been working for the Davis School District in mowing school lawns.  Her day would start about 6:30 AM.  It kept her busy and we were grateful to have her earn some money for the upcoming new year. She also played Ultimate Frisbee, tubed down the river, rock climbed and watched a few great shows.  It has been pure joy to have her home.

Chris is now a Senior attending Davis High.  His A days consists of four Engineering classes and his B Days consist of Lifetime Activities, AP Stats and AP Lit and Seminary.  He was selected to be an intern for L3 Communications.  His first day will be this Thursday.  He is back ref and playing soccer.  Inspite of a broken wrist he was able to get it off in time to go to OYA.  He rock climbed, rafted, horse back riding and being in the outdoors.  This Sunday he will be starting his mission prep class.

Time slips through your fingers...

Chris and Sam (a friend) are all dressed up so they could ask Natalie to Homecoming.  They learned that she was working at the new Farmington Station Cinemark and so they dressed up, took a red rose and went and found her at work.  What else does a Senior do for fun?  Monkey Around...ha ha ha
First day of school for his Senior year.  He worked many hours during the summer but still had alot of fun.  It is going to be a great year.  A year from now he will either leave for a semester of school or leave on his mission.  Wow time continues to tick on and on.

On August 5th, we held our Child Spree.  We clothed nearly 150 elementary students, spent a couple thousand on other needed clothing items for a Wasatch Community Learning Center, provided means to also clothed several Jr and High School students.  If you want to check out the event go to Davis School District in Utah and you will be directed to our website that will show a story on the revolving stories (front page).  Look for Students have a Shopping Spree (or something like that) and you can have a glimpse of what I do.  The project was the best yet and perfect....just how I like it.  I went full time in June.

Our family enjoyed our time at the cabin earlier in the summer and we took a very needed trip to Solitude for about four days in August.  We hiked around the mountains, swam in the pool, went down Park City Zip line that followed the Olympic ski jump, sat long and talked much.  It has been a wonderful but terribly fast summer for us.  Mike is working on our deck and we have enjoyed lots of blackberries, raspberries and blue berries, our beans, tomatoes from our gardens.  Mike was released from being in the High Priest Group Leadership and we are team teaching the 11/12 year olds.  It has been fun.  Someone once asked me if Mike felt like it was demotion.  Of course not....it does not matter where we serve but how we serve....we are only pawns in the Lord's work.  Life is wonderful and sweet.
